Value label

A small text label inside or next to a bar that displays the bar's exact value. Value labels save the reader from estimating against the axis but add visual noise. Use them when exact values matter (financial reports), skip them when the comparison is the point (design-led charts). Don't show both gridlines and value labels — they're redundant.
